Is Golden Seal Right For You?
January 9th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedGolden Seal is a North American native herb growing in the Appalachian Mountains region. The American Indian tribes of Kickapoo, Catawba, Cherokee and Iroquois used the Golden Seal root as an herbal remedy for centuries. They used this herb as an insect repellent and for treating inflamed or sore mouth and eyes. In the 1600s in the early pioneers of Kentucky and Ohio adopted the use of this herb from the native Indians.
The root of this plant is golden yellow in color with scars that look like that of the seal. The herb is thus called Golden Seal. It is also known by names such as eye root, yellow puccoon, eye balm, ground raspberry and yellow root. Golden Seal root is the part that contains the medicinal properties. This herb is from the same family as buttercup or crowfoot.
Golden Seal is a powerful natural antibiotic in the fight against infection and virus.

But numbing the pain so it returns doesn’t do you any good. Eventually you end up with more pain and a large doctor bill.
